Founder & Director | Amplify: Young Voices Rising Through Domestic Abuse
Nickelle D’Silva is a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with children, young people and families across statutory children’s services, safeguarding, early help and family court proceedings.
As a Family Court Adviser and Children’s Guardian, Nickelle works alongside some of the most vulnerable children in society, supporting decision-making in complex cases involving domestic abuse, trauma, neglect, family breakdown and safeguarding concerns. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about ensuring that children’s experiences are not overshadowed by the adult circumstances around them.
Nickelle is also a doctoral researcher exploring how children affected by domestic abuse are recognised, understood and responded to within safeguarding systems. Her professional and academic work is driven by a commitment to helping organisations see the child behind the safeguarding concern.
Through Amplify, Nickelle combines practice expertise, research, training and lived insight to support schools, local authorities, community organisations and professionals to better understand and respond to the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people.
